Here’s your 90’s Video of the Day: Our Lady Peace - Starseed

Because we love ‘em all. Here’s your 90’s Video of the Day:

Our Lady Peace - Starseed

Some songs just write themselves and such is the case for “Starseed” from Our Lady Peace which was, according to the band, written in just five minutes. “Starseed” was such a powerful debut for the band from their album Naveed, that former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant heard the song on the radio and booked OLP for the opening spot on his solo tour. It also got love on the Armageddon soundtrack and an episode of Beavis & Butthead, which is actually where I saw the sepia-desert video for the first time.

The song has a very transcendental, existential, meditative message, so you’ll notice some of the more Eastern themes within the video. While perhaps not the most zen place to film a video about channeling your inner spirit, it was actually filmed in an old Sears warehouse.

They’re still active with a tenth studio album in the works. Plus, singer and frontman Raine Maida and his wife Chantal Kreviazuk recently released a revealing documentary about marital struggles called “I’m Going To Break Your Heart.”
